AIT & Interactive Whiteboards

Presenters:                  Eimear Kelly, Athlone Institute of Technology

Many institutes and universities have invested in interactive whiteboards over the last number of years, and colleagues who use them often report favourably on their advantages which include the recording and more dynamic presentation of content, the opportunities they provide for encouraging student participation, and their facilitation of a multi-media approach to education.
This workshop, facilitated by a lecturer who regularly uses an interactive whiteboard with students, aims to demonstrate briefly how it has been used with both existing and newly-created teaching materials.  As the workshop is being held in a computer lab, it will also provide the participants with a hands-on opportunity to see how straightforward it can be to adapt and design their own materials, using the software provided with the boards.
