EdTech2026: Call for Hosting

Dear Colleagues,

The Irish Learning Technology Association (ILTA) invites institutional partners to submit expressions of interest to host EdTech2026 on Thursday, 27 and Friday, 28 May 2026.

• If you are interested, please complete and return the following application form via email to info@ilta.ie by 5 pm on Friday, 23 May 2025. The successful hosting institution will be announced at the close of this year’s conference, on Friday, 30 May 2025.

The Irish Learning Technology Association is a community of professionals committed to the development and exchange of knowledge through the sharing of expertise, research, and accounts of practice in digital learning.

Our flagship “EdTech” conference is a highlight of the year for anyone working in learning technology in Ireland, particularly where it intersects with or impacts Higher Education. The conference aims to sustain and build a professional community by facilitating interactive dialogue and discourse. It typically attracts between 100–200 educational policymakers, practitioners, researchers, learning technologists, and industry professionals from Ireland and beyond, alongside invited expert keynote speakers.

Our priority is to present a stimulating programme of events and provide opportunities for informal networking and discussion. The EdTech conference schedule has traditionally encompassed: practitioner and research papers; demonstration and workshop sessions; short presentations and practice exchange fora; interactive poster presentations; Technology in Action showcases illustrating industry and education teamwork successes; and “Gasta” lightning talks.

How will ILTA Support Institutional Hosts?

ILTA has a long track record of organising successful conferences. We believe the key to this is developing a detailed understanding of what best serves our community of members to allow them to develop professionally, and that allows the host institution to showcase its expertise and generosity in helping provide the venue and associated local conference platform. We will work closely with you over several months according to an agreed schedule to develop a detailed plan so as to deliver an engaging and welcoming EdTech conference that showcases the best of digital learning in Ireland via the host institution.

Roles and General Responsibilities – in broad terms:

  • ILTA leads the core academic conference requirements (e.g. communications with members, inviting keynotes, coordinating calls for papers, reviews, the conference schedule and theme, participant registration etc.); and works with host partners to address ICT and local infrastructure/capacity requirements.
  • The Local Institution coordinates the building, logistics, catering, and local ICT requirements in conjunction with ILTA.
  • ILTA members and the Institutional Coordinator will form the core EdTech Organising Committee.
