Call for Abstracts

SUBMISSION UPDATE:

CALL FOR ABSTRACTS DEADLINE EXTENDED TO FRIDAY 14 APRIL 2017

Dear ILTA Colleagues

The EdTech2017 Organising Committee invites contributions that align with the overall conference theme and associated topics below.

CONFERENCE DETAILS

Theme: TEL in an Age of Supercomplexity: Challenges, Opportunities and Strategies
Date: 1 – 2 June 2017
Venue: Sligo Institute of Technology, Sligo, Ireland

CONFERENCE THEME

‘Supercomplexity’ is the shorthand term used by Prof. Ron Barnett to describe the state of affairs in which we find ourselves: one of uncertainty, unpredictability, challenge and change.

This concept is particular apt when describing today’s Irish technology-enhanced learning community as it grapples with: increasing demands with limited resources; new models of teaching, learning, assessment and accreditation; emerging strategies, policies and frameworks; and where traditional concepts of the professional, professionalism, and professional life are being reconstituted in an increasingly digital age. Barnett contends that it is impossible for individuals to resolve this overwhelming agenda in traditional terms. This is where EdTech2017 comes in.

CALL FOR CONTRIBUTIONS

The Irish Learning Technology Association invites you to contribute to this discourse from a range of local and international perspectives at EdTech2017 June 1-2 at IT Sligo where we consider TEL in an Age of Supercomplexity: Challenges, Opportunities and Strategies.

Submission of abstracts are accepted at https://edtech2017.exordo.com for inclusion within 3 presentation formats: (i) Research – 500 word abstract (ii) Practitioner – 300 word abstract and (iii) *Gasta (brief rapid-fire micro presentations) 300 word abstract.
