The Irish Learning Technology Association (ILTA) invites suitable Irish institutional partners to submit expressions of interest to host EdTech2019 on Thursday 30 May and Friday 31 2019 (there may be some flexibility around these dates).
About ILTA and the EdTech conference
The Irish Learning Technology Association is a community of professionals committed to the development and exchange of knowledge by sharing expertise and the promotion of best practice in technology-enhanced learning.
EdTech2019 will be ILTA’s twenty-first annual users’ conference. EdTech provides a valuable opportunity for educational technology policy makers, managers, practitioners, researchers, and learning technologists across Higher Education, Further Education and industry eLearning professionals from Ireland and overseas to meet, network, and to exchange practice and ideas.
EdTech conferences are driven by the needs of our community members, and this is reflected in the novel changes in format from year to year. Our priority is to present a dynamic programme of events, along with plenty of opportunity for informal networking and discussion. The EdTech conference schedule has traditionally encompassed: practitioner and research papers; demonstration and workshop sessions; short presentations and practice exchange fora; interactive poster presentations; as well as Technology in Action showcases illustrating industry and education teamwork successes. EdTech also offers opportunities for participants to hear of internationally renowned keynote speakers in the field.
How will ILTA Support Institutional Hosts?
ILTA is very experienced in organising conferences to a high standard. We have enjoyed working collaboratively with our hosting partners to present innovative, engaging and welcoming EdTech conferences for thirteen years. We have well documented processes, requirements, roles, responsibilities, timelines and deliverables which help to inform the conference organisation.
Roles and General Responsibilities – in broad terms:
- ILTA manages the teaching and learning and participant requirements of the conference (e.g. inviting keynotes, coordinating calls for papers, reviews, the conference schedule and theme, participant registration etc.); and works with host partners to address ICT and local infrastructure/capacity requirements
- The Local Institution coordinates the building, logistics, catering, and local ICT requirements in conjunction with ILTA.
- ILTA members and the Institutional Coordinators will form the core EdTech Organising Team.
